Reproduction

We recommend that you de-sex your pets as the health benefits of doing so vastly outweigh the benefits of leaving your pet entire. If your pet is already pregnant, we are able to provide ultrasound or x-rays to see how many foetuses are present. If your pet is overdue or is having difficulty whelping she may need an emergency caesarean.  If this is the case prompt action is required so if you have any concerns while your pet is whelping please contact the clinic. We also can conduct post whelping checks 24 – 48 hours after whelping to make sure everything has gone smoothly with mum and babies.
